Definitions

Plain-language explanations of words used in our Terms of Service, A to Z. Each entry links to the clause it comes from. If anything here differs from the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service prevail.

A

Acceptance box

The tick box at website checkout. Ticking it means the Client accepts the Terms.

Administrator control

Owner-level access to an account: who can change its settings, users, billing and security. For BUILD, the Consultant creates the included accounts and hands administrator control to the Client at handover.

AI-enabled systems

Communications systems, workflows, prompts, templates and tools that use AI, which the Consultant designs, sets up or recommends.

AI outputs

Anything an AI tool produces, such as drafts, summaries or ideas. They can contain errors and are drafts, not verified facts, unless the Consultant confirms otherwise in writing.

Annexe A

The Proposal: the approved document that sets out the services, success indicators, timelines and fees. For website purchases, the checkout details take its place.

B

Balance payment

The remaining 40% of the Fees after the down payment, for RUN and ELEVATE.

BUILD

The plan in which the Consultant sets up a communications system, bought through the website, and the Client then runs it.

Chargeback

Reversing or disputing a payment through a card issuer, PayPal or a similar channel. The Client agrees not to do this.

Checkout

The purchase steps on the Consultant's website. The plan details, price, checkout form and payment confirmation together form the Signed Proposal for that purchase.

Cleared funds

Payment that has actually arrived and is available to the Consultant, not just sent.

Client

The business that engages the Consultant (“you”).

Proprietary, financial, business and technical information one Party receives from the other in connection with the Services.

Dashboard

The client-facing web app where the Client's team does most of its day-to-day work: seeing to-dos and the content calendar, reviewing and approving drafts, and viewing all reports, including the monthly evidence of what converted. macres house keeps it up to date from the Workspace.

Deemed approval

If the Client does not give feedback within the review period, the work may be treated as approved so the project can move on.

Deliverables

The work the Consultant produces specifically for the Client. They become the Client's property only once all Fees are paid.

Down payment

The first 60% of the Fees for RUN and ELEVATE, paid before work starts. It is non-refundable. BUILD is paid in full instead.

ELEVATE

The plan for project-based public relations, partnerships, media outreach and events, quoted per project.

Fees

The amounts the Client pays for the Services, as set out in the Signed Proposal or shown at checkout.

Force majeure

Events outside either Party's reasonable control, such as natural disasters, war, pandemics, government restrictions, power failures or strikes.

Handover

The point when a BUILD system is handed to the Client, including training on how to use it and what to do when something breaks. Included maintenance starts on this day.

Human-in-the-loop

A point in an AI-enabled system where a person reviews the work before it is used, for example before anything is published.

Included maintenance

For BUILD: a weekly check, fixes to what the Consultant set up, and adjustments after provider updates, for the period shown at checkout.

Included subscriptions

For BUILD: the basic paid tier of the named tools, paid by the Consultant for the period shown at checkout, starting on the payment date.

L

Licence (internal use)

The Client's right, once all Fees are paid, to use the systems the Consultant set up for its own business only. It cannot be resold, shared or copied for others.

Liquidated damages

An amount agreed in advance as compensation, so it does not need to be proven later. Used for late payment, early termination of RUN and ELEVATE, and termination for cause.

O

Out-of-scope work

Requests beyond what the Signed Proposal covers, such as extra deliverables, platforms, audiences or rush work. It needs a separate agreement and may change fees and timelines.

Parties

The Consultant and the Client.

Payment platform fees

Charges from PayPal, card issuers, banks or transfer services. The Client bears them.

Plans

The three ways the Services are offered: BUILD, RUN and ELEVATE.

Promotional price

A discounted price shown on the website. It applies only to purchases completed while the promotion is shown.

Proprietary systems

Retainer

An ongoing monthly engagement, as in RUN.

Review period

The time the Client has to give feedback on drafts or deliverables: as stated in the Signed Proposal, or five business days if none is stated.

Revisions

Changes to a deliverable within the agreed brief. Up to two reasonable rounds are included unless the Signed Proposal says otherwise.

RUN

The monthly plan in which the Consultant builds the system and runs it with the Client.

Service cycle

For RUN billed by cycle: a billing period of thirty (30) calendar days unless agreed otherwise. Payment is due the day after the cycle ends.

Services

The consultancy, communications, systems implementation, events and production services the Consultant provides, as detailed in the Proposal.

Signed Proposal

The Proposal the Client has approved, physically or digitally. For website purchases, the checkout details, checkout form and payment confirmation.

Subcontractor

A person or company the Consultant engages to help deliver the Services. The Consultant remains responsible for them.

Support channel

The way the Client raises BUILD issues during the maintenance period, set by the Consultant at handover.

Suspension

Pausing the Services, and holding back deliverables, while payments are overdue.

Third-party platforms and tools

Software and services run by other companies, such as AI tools, social networks and analytics. The Consultant is not liable for their outages, changes or errors.

Third-party subscriptions (RUN)

Tool subscriptions paid through the Consultant for a RUN engagement, for the duration stated in the Signed Proposal.

Withholding tax

Tax a Philippine client deducts from a payment and remits to the BIR, documented with BIR Form No. 2307.

Work-in-progress

Work started but not finished. If the Client cancels early, it is treated as fully earned.

Workspace

Where the groundwork happens, mainly in Notion: AI agents produce research, drafts and content plans there, and macres house reviews them before the results are reflected in the Dashboard. For RUN, macres house runs the Workspace and the Client works in the Dashboard; read-only access to the Workspace is available on request through a support ticket. For BUILD, the Client receives the Workspace at handover, because the Client runs the system.
